His ways are higher than our ways

The LORD says, “My thoughts are not like yours. Your ways are not like mine. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.” We don’t always know what God is doing. Even in Jamaica we have seen that the world seems to be turned upside down right now and we have asked God what is going on? But God does not always enlighten us. Usually He asks that we just trust Him. So it is with many of our days at Noah’s Ark. We don’t always clearly see what God is doing but He just asks us to trust Him. Even when we grow mentally tired from boys who are constantly needy and demanding we see God reminding us how we need to just trust Him. Even when we sit in our living room and find ourselves sweating with fans blowing right on us, we find God reminding us that even when the road is not easy, He still wants to know if we are trusting Him.

You may be like me. I often want to push the easy button. I often want peace and quiet and comfort. I miss my family and my old way of life and God has to remind me that He is enough. And He is enough for each of you. No matter what your circumstances or the fear we might experience about the future . . . He is still in control.

There were many times over the last 4 months where I had to stop, and God reminded me to take my eyes off of me. Every single time I found myself in distress or weary I was reminded that others are hurting and others are often in more stressful situations than myself. I found when I would stop and ask God to bring to my mind others who needed prayer He always filled me with just the right people to pray for. And when I prayed for those people, I found my own burdens lifted. I found the more I was able to take my thoughts off myself the more I was able to continue His calling on my life in my situation.

People have often asked us what can we do for you? How can we help? We appreciate it when you pray for us. Actively pray. Daily pray. Purposefully pray. I know it helps me to pray for others and I know God will bless you as you pray for us and the boys and staff at Noah’s Ark. God may not be calling you to Jamaica but as you pray for us, ask God what "higher way" He might be calling you to... whether that might be organizing a mission team, supporting a child, or monthly support for this ministry or someone else's ministry. God's will and way are definitely beyond our natural way. May we be submissive to His way no matter what that looks like for each of us!
